After a week when the Movement Control Order (MCO) was announced, it has been reported that Malaysians come to respect the orders of social distancing in hopes to control the Covid-19 outrebreak.
The authorities finally sees the positive developments that they have been hopint to obtain out of their implementation effors.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said during a press conference that the authorities reporeted a 95% compliance rate which means that Malaysians now intends to stay at home. He compared it with the initial 92% compliance rate last Sunday.
He said that they now see clear roads because of the public staying at home, and they are pleased to see the improvements on the MCO.
Police have already held 1,029 roadblocks and checked 163,687 vehicles nationwide as at last Monday. They were also helped by the Malaysian army to enforce MCO, which held 2,481 surprise checks and 1,179 public announcements on Sunday alone. Meanwhile, Defense Minister has stated that the current issue now is seeing people who balik kampung tries to get back into the city. Those who left during the start of the MCO will not be allowed to return back.
