Taiwan Doctor who ridiculed Malaysia's COVID-19 efforts apologizes in Facebook

TAIPEI – The Taiwanese doctor who condemns Malaysia’s effort on handling the Covid-19 pandemic apologises in Facebook after receiving public backlash.

“I understand that the Chinese in Malaysia have the habit of wearing face masks and that the pandemic situation in Malaysia is much better controlled than European and American countries, where the people there do not believe in wearing face masks,”

The Dr. went on to apologize saying that he had no recollection of mentioning Malaysia nor think the country has problem in their prevention efforts.

Dr Lee Bing-ying was interviewed on a TVBS show which was uploaded online saying Malaysia has embarrassed itself for not properly handling the situation and failing to control the spread despite the hot weather of the country. He also criticized the citizen for not wearing face masks thinking they are like the same as the American-England group. The apology issued was only made on the comment section. The Doctor did not post anymore statement regarding the issue.
