Biden isn't going to the Philippines to speak with Marcos

Biden and Marcos are said to have held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, United States, according to a press release issued by the White House.

On September 19, 2022, Marcos arrived in New York for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where he was scheduled to deliver a speech.

During the bilateral meeting, Biden brought up a number of topics, including the recovery of COVID-19, renewable energy, disputes in the South China Sea and the critical global throughway, the conflict in Ukraine, and human rights.

The significance of the United States’ relationship with the Philippines was another topic that was brought up by the President of the United States.

In his response, Marcos expressed gratitude to the United States for preserving peace in Southeast Asia and providing assistance to the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
