Herlene Nicole Budol has revealed plans to compete in the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 competition, extending her pageant career.

In the Tuesday, February 28 episode of Quick Talk with Boy Abunda, the comedian-turned-beauty queen expressed her gratitude to her manager, Wilbert Tolentino, for assisting her with her pageant adventure by participating in this new competition.

Herlene noted that Wilbert assisted her in achieving her goals of owning a house and a car and providing for her family. She would like to make him happy by competing in another beauty competition.

Herlene stated that her confidence will be her biggest strength, just as it was in her first national beauty contest.

Herlene also demonstrated her “Squammy Walk,” proclaiming it a “walk to success.”

Herlene, who rose to prominence as the “Sexy Hipon Girl” on the variety show Wowowin, was named first runner-up in the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant in May 2022 — her first time competing in a beauty pageant.

In August of 2022, she will represent her country at the Miss Planet International pageant. Herlene was set to represent the country in an international pageant for the first time, but she had to withdraw owing to “pageant debacles.” Her replacement, Maria Luisa Varela, was crowned Miss Planet International on the evening of January 20, 2023.

Information regarding the Miss Grand Philippines competition have not yet been disclosed. As Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. resigned from the franchise, this would be the first time the competition would be conducted by ALV Pageant Circle.
