Former low-cost carrier pilot in fatal fall at condo

PETALING JAYA – A former pilot with a regional low-cost carrier based was found dead on a apparent sucide at his condominium in Puchong, on Monday afternoon.

According to Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ismadi Borhan said the officers found A. Sanjiv Daevin, 35, dead at his condominium after they received a call at around afternoon on Monday.

The former pilot died from injuries suffered after jumping from his 12th floor residential unit.

The authorities did not find any suspicious elements or foul play at the scene. According to the statements from witnesses the victim may be suffering depression as he had lost his job two months ago due to the impact of the pandemic on the airline industry.

Ismadi said in a statement that his inability to cope up with the stess has led to his decision to jump off his residential building.

Sanjiv is also part of a local band called Aseana Percussion Unit (A.P.U). On the group’s facebook page, confirmed the passing of their violinist, keyboardist and percussionist and asked the people to offer prayers for Sanjiv. He will be cremated today at the DBKL crematorium in Cheras.
