Najibs withdraws review application on lifting of stay on SRC trial

PETALING JAYA – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has withdrawn his bid to review the application against the Federal Court’s decision to lift the stay on his SRC International Sdn Bhd trial.

Najib’s representative Nur Syahirah Hanapiah, confirmed to the media that the client withdrew his notice of motion has been taken care off.

According to Nur Syahirah, Najib reserves his rights to raise the issue during the appeal later. She also said that there were no objection from the prosecution for the withdrawal of the review application.

The notice of discontinuance of the review was submitted two days ago.

Najib, 67, was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment with a fine of RM210 million after he was found guilty by the High Court on all seven charges.

The offences were related to abuse of power, 10 year imprisonment for the three criminal breach of trust and 10 years for the three counts of money laundering. The court ordered that all sentences run concurrently.
