The Tokyo Aviation Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is currently investigating the details of the situation.

The EVA Air plane had 207 passengers and crew on board, while the Thai Airways flight carried 264 individuals. Both aircraft were halted on the runway, leading to the closure of the affected runway and leaving only three operational.

Video footage from NHK shows part of one of the Thai aircraft’s wings missing, along with debris on the runway. Airport personnel can be seen cleaning up the debris, and the Tokyo Airport Office has dispatched staff to assess the situation.

The cause of the collision is not yet clear, and authorities have not provided further details on how the incident occurred. The airlines involved, the airport, and Japan’s Transport Ministry have not issued official statements or responded to inquiries.

In response to the collision, flights at Haneda Airport experienced delays. The closure of the runway and the subsequent investigation disrupted normal operations.

Aviation authorities and investigators are going to determine the causes by examining the circumstances surrounding the incident. Hopefully they will also take Safety measures and protocols to prevent similar accidents in the future and to enhance the overall safety of operations at the airport.
