If you are a K-drama fan, look out for Park Seo-joon who plays the role of Prince Yan in The Marvels. The latest MCU release is a all-stars with Brie Larson in the lead, Samuel L. Jackson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris, and Kamala Khan, among others.

The Marvels is a thrilling adventure to a strange planet, and the quest to stop Dar-Benn who is stealing resources from other planets and filling up her own planet Hala. And there’s Prince Yan from planet Aladna where people speak musically.

Park Seo-joon’s Screen Time

Seo-joon, who starred in the Oscar-winning Parasite, expressed excitement about playing Prince Yan. “I think Aladna and Prince Yan are the place and the figure that is important for showing the growth of Carol Danvers. Some might think my part in the movie is too short, but I believe it plays a crucial part in the overall narrative of The Marvels.”Nia DaCosta, director of The Marvels, has said Seo-joon’s role as Prince Yan would be short. But he highlighted that he is a character with impact

The South Korean actor has been featured on The Marvels official international poster, alongside lead The Marvels cast members. Seo-joon also has his own solo character pose. However, his 105-minute long screen time in The Marvels, has left fans disappointed. One fan thought Seo-joon had a lead role. Another said, “I can’t believe his screen time is less than the time it takes to cook cup noodles. This puts a bad taste in my mouth, It just pisses me off how they are treating the Asian character.”

The Marvels

Others are delighted that Seo-joon is playing a character role in The Marvels. They compared him to big names like Russell Crow as Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania (2023).

Despite an awesome star cast, The Marvels is not faring well at the box office. It has ringed in $21 million – $22 million Friday. But this could just be a low start for the $200 million budgeted sequel of the 2019 Captain Marvel which was the highest grossing female superhero movie of all-time.
