KUALA LUMPUR – Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has urged Malaysians today to be united against the common enemy of Covid-19 amid the recent spike in transmissions in the country.

In three consecutive Facebook posts today, he said that Malaysians should not let the frontliner’s effort goes to waste and must be united to fight the common enemy rather than continue “to cry over the spilled milk over and over again”.

“Where do we want to be we need to decide either to come together be united and be stronger to fight the common enemy or continue to cry over the spilled milk over and over again when the numbers are increasing. Our frontliners are already on the ground with their sweats and tears.” He added.

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also highlighted on how the Health Ministry has prepared three scenarios for the surge of cases on three different models, however all three gave similar results.

He said that the graph was the simplest way to show the country’s current situation. He urged once again the people to fight and flatten the curve once again.

As Malaysia enters its 10th month since the first case of virus was recorded, Dr Noor Hisham said that controlling large-scall community transmission is the main focus of the government. The comments came amid the growing surge of Covid-19 cases in the country over the past few days. Malaysia recorded 432 cases yesterday.
