SHAH ALAM – Proton Holdings Bhd has confirmed that additional 49 of its employees have tested positive on the Covid-19 screening after one employee tested positive last week.
In a statement released by Proton today, all 49 employees are from its Engineering Division in their Shah Alam facility.
The company has now requested all non-essential personnel from the said facility to work from home as a precautionary measure.
Proton said that it will adhere to the protocols set by the government and will continue its efforts with more stringent action to prevent the spread of the virus in the facility.
The company are currently conduction contact tracing and has set up a Covid-19 team to monitor and manage the current situation.
Proton’s Centre of Service Excellence and showroom in Selangor are being disinfected on an hourly basis and all of their frontliners will follow the safety procedures.
The company wants to reassure all its customer to follow the said guidelines and procedures as it has been doing from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. They are now working with the authorities through the process and satisfied with their actions so far. Last week, a Proton employee from the research and development department, who was not facing the customer, also tested positive for Covid-19.
