Philippines is currently undergoing intense climate changes and the regions including Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao are encountering heavy rains. The meteorological department of Philippines has warned regarding the intensifying Typhoon which is named as Pepito/Man-Yi on November 16, 2024. It is said that the regions, Luzon and Visayas are under threat.
It is reported that, Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed his authorities to be prepared with the precautionary measures at the typhoon hitting areas and to stock up with the food and medical supplies as needed. This locally termed typhoon pepito/Man-Yi is the sixth typhoon hitting the country which more exposed to the frequent natural disasters, Philippines this November. President has sent the warning throughout the country in particular to the vulnerable locations. Because, it is expected that the Pepito/Man-Yiās impact might reach upto 3.2 yards and it is the responsibility of both citizens & the officials to safeguard at the shelters.

āWe have to do a little extra here. We are already in bad shape because of the saturation, the damage done to infrastructure, homes and other infrastructure. Watch out for the storm surge and continue what you are doing on the relief goods.ā
āNCR is in great danger here, NCR is very vulnerable to flooding againā said Juanito Victor Remulla, Interior Secretary.
NCR (National Capital Region) which includes Manila, Makati, Marikina, Pasay, Malabon, San Juan, Pasig and ten more cities where more than 13 million people live are at the risk of flooding from heavy to intense rains.
The typhoon Man-Yi strengthened overnight and it is reported that the speed of the sustained wind is estimated upto 93.2 miles per hour and the speed of hurricane is upto 115 mph. This weekend a landfall is expected at the eastern Province of Catanduances.
