On Saturday, the stalwart of Chunichi Dragons Pitcher, Hiroto Takahashi attended the negotiation for his contract renewal for the next season for an annual salary of 120 million yen which is 57 million yen higher. This event took place at the Nakagawa Ward, Nagoya City. With this he became the youngest player of the team to sign the 120 million yen annual salary contract.
The 22 year old Hiroto’s ERA (Earned Run Average) is estimated as 1.38 in 2024 and he was titled as the winner of best ERA player with best record in the Central League.
Post the contract negotiation Hiroto addressed the press and told about his team and his future games,
“The team has given me a good evaluation, and I am very satisfied with the contract. I will aim to be the opening pitcher on March 28. I want to pitch in a way that will give the team momentum. I want to prepare well for the league championship and Japan Championship”

This season Hiroto has played 21 matches in total for Chunichi Dragons in which he has registered twelve wins and four losses.
“I watched a lot of games from the bench this season, which was a good learning experience for me. I think every year is a challenge. I want to get back to basics and do my best to play in every game by getting my physique in order to perform well” he added.
