On January 9th 2025, the Mingei Theater Company revealed that actor Takao Ito who is also a member of the performing group died of multiple organ failure at his home in Tokyo on August 14th of last year. He was 87 years old and his funeral took place on August 18th last year with only his family present.
Takao Itô was born on January 31st 1937 in Iwate, Japan. He is an actor who appeared in Zatoichi Challenged (1967), Jirokichi the Rat (1965) and The Battle of Manchuria (1970). After graduating from the Haiyuza Training School (12th term) in 1963, he enrolled in the Mingei Theater Company’s acting program and was accepted into the company in 1965.
