KUALA LUMPUR – AirAsia will be resuming their Malaysia and Singapore flights following the decision to go ahead and implement the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL).

According to AirAsia, the resumption of flights will be followed by other international destinations but will be subjected to the approval from the authorities.

The budget airliner will also launch weekly flights between Singapore and Penang, Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

The decision by the Malaysian and Singapore governments to allow travellers for essential business and official purposes under the RGL scheme has helped the airliner to allow a little bit of breathing room to recover.

The Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) allows cross-border travel for those eligible individuals that will be subjected to strict Covid-19 prevention and public health measures agreed upon by both countries. AirAsia Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes welcomed the new developments and reiterated the company’s commitment towards resuming air connectivity to revive the economy in the region.
