The third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit held in Dubai has turned into a label platform for Asians involved in content creation and creating innovative technologies. The summit which attracted more than fifteen thousand visitors exhibited high involvement of Asian markets confirming their importance in the new era of digital content economy. Taking place under the umbrella of “Content For Good,” an initiative of the UAE Government Media Office, the event turned Dubai’s Emirates Towers, DIFC, and Museum of the Future into the Middle East’s international crosspoint of digital cooperation.
Asian Tech Giants and Investment Prospects
ByteDance, TikTok, and other key Asian tech leaders played a strong and active role in the deliberations at the summit. The event drew more than 125 CEOs and leading Asian digital platforms as well as investment firms. 10+ investment funds with more than AED 50 million in total showed great interest in funding content producers, particularly those from the emerging Asian markets and content collaborations with the UAE.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, pointed out that the target audience of the summit is between the Middle Eastern and Asian digital economies. A number of Asian SNS platforms together with Meta, YouTube, and X attended the event, where they mostly unleashed localization of content strategy and advanced technology. Specific emphasis was placed on new developments within Asian markets and their effects on world content production.

Regional Impact and Future Collaborations
The summit’s 1 Billion Pitches competition attracted great entries from Asian countries with a total of 500 submissions from 40 countries. They totaled AED50 million; AED30 million from Shorooq and AED20 million committed by the summit’s organizing team to prove the high readiness of the UAE and Asian partners to develop digital relations. In 25 selected semi-finalists, there were several innovative projects from different Asian markets.
The following one is planned for January 9-11, 2026, with the support of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and, hopefully, it is going to continue building UAE’s role as a connector between Asia and the rest of the global digital markets. Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Projects in the UAE, Saeed Al Eter said that the partnerships created during the summit between content creators of Asia and international counterparts show that more disruption will be initiated in the subsequent sessions.
