
Japanese pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki will be having her first solo concert in Singapore as part of her Asia tour, “I Am Ayu Ep II.” The concert is a return to international stages for her after 16 years, having successfully concluded her last tour, “I Am Ayu” which had evoked overwhelming responses across Asia.
Ayumi Hamasaki suspended global touring for 16 years because of motherhood, the COVID-19 pandemic and persistent hearing problems. She had a child in 2019, canceled tours in 2020 because of the pandemic and has managed with almost complete hearing loss. In spite of adversity, she continued to work musically and is now coming back with her “I Am Ayu Ep II” tour.
The news came out on April 9 through her record label Avex’s website. Although particular dates, locations and ticketing information regarding the Singapore concert have not yet been revealed, fans are keeping their fingers crossed for further announcements.
Hamasaki’s shows in Shanghai and Chengdu were unprecedented with tickets selling out in minutes and fans continued to praise her performance and singing as captivating and electrifying.
