After her Coachella music festival show Jennie of BLACKPINK returned to the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Coachella festival sparked new interest in her song “Like Jennie” because she impressed fans with her show.
The South Korean artist BLACKPINK member Jennie introduced her song “Like Jennie” in March, and it first came in at position 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 rankings. The song achieved strong results worldwide in its sixth week and earned a position of No. 4 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 6 on the Global 200.
The Coachella performance video got rapidly distributed across social media with fans using #JennieRunsCoachella and #Jenchella hashtags to make it go worldwide. Jennie’s concert audience felt intense emotions when she sang “Starlight’s” song line “I just want to make my mama proud” because she broke down crying during that moment. During pauses between songs the singer talked straight to her mother who joined the performance.
Her festival setlist showcased her versatility as a performer, featuring:
- Solo performances of her hit single “Solo”
- Fan-favorites “Mantra” and “Zen”
- The chart-climbing “Like Jennie”
“Like Jennie” remains popular despite Indian listeners accusing the song of copying the film’s theme music in March 2023. The popular Indian composer Pritam spoke up in support of Jennie without giving attention to similar criticism. Jennie proves her role as both a BLACKPINK member and independent performer as she earns top chart positions after joining Coachella.
