china urges india to join forces against us tariffs as trade war intensifies

China asks India to fight the US’s trade practices because those measures hurt developing nations worldwide. According to Yu Jing of the Chinese Embassy in India, the nations need to unite in opposition to harmful development restrictions enforced on Global South countries.

India joins China to appeal the new 50% tariff that US President Donald Trump imposed on Chinese imports while raising the Indian import tax rate to 26%. Starting on April 9, these trading rules were implemented between the United States and its trade deficit partners.

Through Yu’s announcement on X, the nations show how their joint market strategy benefits both China and India against US commercial restrictions. China imposed a 34% trade defense duty first, but Trump warned of more measures unless Beijing withdrew those steps.

China now talks with other Asian partners, Japan and South Korea about mutual strategies to handle the rising trade conflict. The European Union Trade Commissioner made a trip to China to find ways for partnership.

The news about pharmaceutical tariffs concerns Indian and Chinese leaders because these countries lead the international production of generic medicines.

Trump explained his positions to Republican Congress members by stating that the tariffs would boost US manufacturing facilities.

Economists predict that rising trade disputes will harm worldwide supply channels and investors while damaging diplomatic ties between America and China.
