Christopher Nolan’s next: Oscar-recipient filmmaker preparing an adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey

Christopher Nolan, the prolific director behind ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Interstellar’, has been quite busy lately as he and his team prepare an adaptation of Homer The Odyssey. Homer is considered one of the most influential authors in history.

Nolan’s next project ‘The Odyssey’ is a mythic action epic shot across the globe using the best Imax film technology. Set to open in theaters on July 17, 2026, this film is going to bring Homer’s foundational saga to Imax screens for the first time.

‘The Odyssey’ has a handsome ensemble of actors such as Robert Pattinson, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya and Lupita Nyong’o. It is going to start production sometime in the first half of 2025. The announcement is making global headlines for all the right reasons.

Nolan’s next passion project is based on the prominent poet’s ancient Greek epic poem ‘The Odyssey’. It remains one of the oldest pieces of literature still read by modern audiences. The poem chronicles the story of Greek hero Odysseus.
