Commencing in 2023, Dubai hosts the World Government Summit

The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed participants to the World Government Summit (WGS) 2023, which will begin in Dubai on 13 February 2023 with the theme “Shaping Future Governments.”

This year, the WGS brings together twenty heads of state, over two hundred fifty ministers, over ten thousand government officials, intellectuals, and global experts, as well as over eighty international organizations.

Sheikh Mohamed stated that the UAE is eager to strengthen international collaboration and to actively engage in global efforts to confront issues and establish a brighter future for mankind.

The UAE President explained, “The World Government Summit consolidates the UAE’s message of openness and constructive interaction with global developing issues, and highlights the UAE’s influential contribution to finding solutions to future challenges, in a way that meets the aspirations of future generations and benefits the world.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stated that, during the course of its past editions, the WGS has left a significant mark on the global government work process.

Sheikh Mohammed remarked, “The WGS represents 10 years of impact during which the summit has opened up new frontiers for management and institutional activity.” Every day, our rapidly-changing world faces new problems, and tight cooperation among the world’s governments generates optimism for a brighter tomorrow for humanity. “The WGS is a bright example of what we can accomplish to help people and improve the future for future generations.”

In its present edition, the WGS serves as an inclusive platform that hosts the largest meetings in its ten-year existence. More than 300 government officials, thinking leaders, and famous worldwide experts are scheduled to present their perspectives and exchange ideas in over 220 sessions at this year’s conference.

Since its beginning, the summit has centered on the formation of a new system of international relationships based on influencing and inspiring future administrations.

The WGS 2023 will host a series of interactive dialogue sessions on six main topics: accelerating development and governance, the future of societies and healthcare, exploring the frontiers, governing economic resilience and connectivity, global city design and sustainability, and prioritizing learning and work.
