SINGAPORE – Customers who plans on visiting shopping malls and supermarkets are urged to bring along their National Registration Identification Cards (NRICs) as part of their contact tracing regime.
The public may also be required to enter the NRIC numbers via an online national visitor registration system.
Enterprise Singapore said that more malls and supermarkets already implemented enhanced measures such as temperature screening and contact tracing to help curb the spread of the disease.
The government also sent out a notice via Telegram and WhatsApp message that those who intends to buy in the supermarkets and malls should bring their NRIC or other official photo identification with a barcode for scanning.
According to reports, NTUC FairPrice already conducted contact tracking at some stores. A move that will be implemented in all outlets in the future. Singapore is now in a “circuit breaker” period until June 1 in a bid to lessen the spread of Covid-19.
