KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia and Singapore are now in joint cooperation under the Joint Working Group (JWG) and agreed on several measures tackle the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak. The JWG will be co-led by the deputy health ministers of both countries.
Health Ministry’s Deputy Director General of Health (Public Health) Datuk Dr. Chong Chee Kheong and his Singaporean counterpart Dr. Benjamin Koh led their respective delegations.
Continous entry screening at both countries’ land borders and aligning the protocols both countries are using are among the several measures being tackled on the meeting in Johor Baru on Tuesday.
Both country’s technical level on the Covid-19 situations were also updated and began discussions on joint-border cooperation.
Both parties also visited the health screening facilities at the Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex.
Both countries reiterates the importance of both countries working hand and hand to contain the ongoing outbreak under the newly formed group.
