Covid-19: Politicians tested negative, says Health Director-General

PETALING JAYA – The Malaysian Health Ministry has confirmed on Monday that two former political office holders have tested negative for the illness.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that both individuals underwent series of test and the virus was not detected in any of the tests.

It was recently reported that former minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof and his deputy Datuk Dr Hatta Ramli had been in contact with a Covid-19 patient.

The two individuals were said to be in attendance of an appreciation event at a hotel here last Thursday that was also attended by a member of the UDA Holdings Berhad board of directors that was tested positive of the virus.

UDA, in a statement on Monday confirmed that the individual is now under quarantine at a government hospital.
