DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the use of the Covid-19 rapid test tool was not used randomly but was prioritized based on criteria which risked transmission first.

“This rapid-testing tool is not used randomly. And also not to do mass testing in open areas, “Anies said on his Twitter account, Monday, March 23.

Anies also asserted, in this phase the DKI Jakarta government needs to test those at risk of transmitting it first.

“Let’s all obey the criteria and procedures for the good of all of us in Jakarta,” he added.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health had provided 520 rapid test equipment to DKI Jakarta. Then followed by getting more help from the Buddhist Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation through the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) Covid-19 Central Cluster Team, which is a rapid test tool kits of 100,000 and masks of 50,000.

“Thank God, 100 thousand rapid-testing tools arrived for use in Jakarta tonight,” Anies said (23/3).

Head of DKI Jakarta Health Agency, Widyasatuti, said the rapid test began to be carried out by tracing the activity areas of positive patients Covid-19. This rapid test has been carried out since Friday (20/3) starting from the South Jakarta area.

Previously, Anies said that the procedure for using the Covid-19 rapid test had been prepared by the Health Service and the implementation was not carried out en masse and not in an open field.

“This is not as a diagnostic determination, but as part of surveillance (supervision) to the field,” Widyastuti asserted.
