SINGAPORE – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has registered 741 new coronavirus infections, taking the total cases to 20,939.
Out of these cases, majority are involving foreign workers residing in dormitories and five Singaporeans and permanent residents
More than 50 clusters were linked to the foreign workers living in dormitories. Out of 323,000 migrant workers living in dormitories, 17,757 has been tested for the coronavirus. S11 Dormitory at Punggol were identified as the country’s largest cluster, followed by Tuas View Dormitory and Sungei Tengah Lodge.
According to the ministry, the Coronavirus testing has been ramped up and most of these cases are mild and are being monitored in community isolation facilities or the general wards of hospitals. MOH has conducted 175,604 swab tests, of which 123,525 were done on unique individuals. As of May 6, 1,628 patients has fully recovered with death toll tallyt at 20.
