Did You Know? Performer Lauv Wanted to Take a Picture with Jollibee

Prior to his highly-anticipated concert in the heart of Manila, American singer and songwriter Lauv gave his Filipino fans a delightful surprise by making an unexpected pit stop at one of the Philippines’ most beloved fast-food chains – Jollibee.

In a social media post that quickly went viral, Lauv shared his impromptu visit to a Jollibee branch, recounting how a simple plan to snap a photo with the iconic Jollibee mascot turned into an unforgettable dining experience.

“It was a Monday in Manila. I finished a photoshoot and got hungry, so we went to @jollibee to catch some grub, and then THIS happened,” Lauv captioned his post, capturing the essence of his unexpected adventure.

Why did Lauv perform in Jollibee?

In a TikTok video shared by Lauv, he narrated that their initial plan was just to take a quick snapshot with the cheerful Jollibee mascot standing outside the restaurant. However, the allure of Jollibee’s famous Chickenjoy and spaghetti proved irresistible, prompting the singer and his companions to step inside for a bite to eat.

As Lauv observed the bustling atmosphere of the Jollibee branch, he was taken aback by the staff’s unique method of announcing orders through a microphone. This unexpected discovery sparked a mischievous idea in Lauv’s mind – he decided to surprise the Jollibee staff and fellow diners with an impromptu acapella rendition of his hit song, “I Like Me Better.”

Sharing his feelings in the TikTok video, Lauv confessed, “So then we asked if I could sing them a lil song backstage hehe. I can’t believe they let me do this. Ngl I was kinda nervous.”

The video captured Lauv’s amazement as he showcased his vocal talents, serenading the restaurant with the sweet melodies of “I Like Me Better.” The restaurant staff and fellow diners looked on in awe as they witnessed this unexpected and heartwarming performance.

Following the impromptu concert, Lauv couldn’t resist indulging in a taste of Jollibee’s famed Chickenjoy. His reaction was nothing short of enthusiastic as he savored every bite, declaring the chicken to be “luscious” and “delicious.” With a mouthful of Chickenjoy, Lauv humorously expressed his desire to come back “forever” for more of this Filipino fast-food favorite.

In the end, Lauv achieved his initial goal by taking a memorable photo with the iconic Jollibee mascot, but his impromptu performance and genuine appreciation for Filipino cuisine left an indelible mark on the hearts of Jollibee staff and patrons alike.

Lauv, known for his chart-topping tracks such as “The Other,” “Paris in the Rain,” “Who,” “Comfortable,” and “Getting Over You,” has not only won over the world with his music but has also captured the hearts of Filipinos through this unforgettable Jollibee experience.
