Disabled man charged with sexual abuse, raping daughter

IPOH, 24 Jan -- Seorang lelaki Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) penglihatan dibawa ke Mahkamah Sesyen hari ini atas lima pertuduhan melakukan amang seksual dan persetubuhan luar tabii terhadap anak perempuannya berusia 17 tahun di Batu Gajah, sejak tahun lepas. Mahkamah membenarkan tertuduh diikat jamin RM25,000 dengan seorang penjamin serta syarat tambahan tertuduh dikehendaki melapor diri di balai polis terdekat setiap bulan dan tidak boleh mengganggu mangsa serta mana-mana saksi atau jaminan ditarik semula. IPOH – A visually-impaired man claimed trial at the Sessions Court here today to five counts of sexual harassment and unnatural sex with his 17-year-old daughter in Batu Gajah.

The 43-year-old disabled man was accused of sodomising his daughter between December 26 and 27 last year and on January 7 at a house in Batu Gajah.

The charges under Section 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 are each punishable by up to 20 years and whipping, as well as police supervision of up to three years, if convicted.

The suspect was also charged under Section 377C of the Penal Code with committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent. The court allowed bail of RM25,000 with one surety for all five charges. He is also required to present himself to the nearest police station every month while he is not allowed to disturb the victim or any of the witnesses or his bail would be withdrawn.
