Nick Clegg, the President of Global Affairs of Meta, recently talked about the subject of artificial intelligence (AI). He discussed the widespread impact of AI with an Indian English-language news magazine India Today.
According to Meta’s Nick Clegg, every tech firm will soon become an AI company. He also urged India, the European Union and the United States to align more closely” on AI regulation.
Recently, Nick Clegg said that Meta has a history of openly sharing AI technologies. He further said, “We have released over 1,000 AI models, libraries and data sets for researchers. Last week, we announced that we are opening access to our latest large language model, Llama 2, in partnership with Microsoft.”
Nick Clegg also met with Indian leaders, start-ups and Indian companies. He discussed the collaboration in the field of AI with leading Indian academic institutions. He added, “I believe that Meta’s open approach to innovation goes hand in hand with India’s leadership on digital issues.”

In an interview with India Today, Nick Clegg said, “At Meta, we have been using AI for ages; anything you see on Facebook or Instagram has in one way or another been touched by AI.”
AI has been making headlines in recent days. Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, the owner of Twitter, the founder of the Boring Company, as well as the co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI, also launched his new artificial intelligence company, called xAI, which can “understand the universe.” Musk said that xAI would build a “good AGI”, which stands for artificial general intelligence.
He repeatedly said that AI should be paused and be regulated. He also claimed that AI had the potential for “civilizational destruction.”
Recently, Satya Nadella, an Indian-American business executive who is the executive chairman and CEO of Microsoft, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced partnership to launch the next generation of its AI large language model.
