Dr. Maszlee bin Malik, the ex Minister of Education has won the Simpang Renggam Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) division chief post.
His only opponent Ahmad Ahem, had 79 votes while Maszlee won 211 votes from the division’s inaugural leadership election last Feb 15.
Also a Simpang Renggam MP, Maszlee thanked his supporters on a social media post, quoted “Together we will make Simpang Renggam red, strengthen the party and as one, we will make Johor as Bersatu’s fortress. From Simpang Renggam we come and to Simpang Renggam we return to serve. Move forward!” Maszlee left his post down as Minister of Education on the advice of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on Jan 2.
