Honda to Transfer U.S.-Bound Civic Hybrid Production from Japan to Indiana
Honda brings production of its five-door Civic hybrid back to the U.S. The company announced shifting the assembly of the model bound for the U.S. from Japan to its plant in Indiana.
A Honda spokesperson said production at the Yorii factory, located near Tokyo, was set to conclude between June and July this year.

This is part of Honda’s larger scale strategy on how to streamline operations and build cars at cheaper costs closer to market day. Having produced the hybrid Civic in the U.S., Honda’S has opted to reduce export costs and be more responsive to the demand from the market.
