In a bid to foster cultural and educational ties, the Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar, Bali, granted Mandarin language education scholarships to 100 students and teachers from 11 three-language schools in Bali and West Nusa Tenggara. The awardees, who received the scholarships on Tuesday, were chosen for their commitment to language learning.
The head of special education and special services education at the department of education, youth, and sports for Bali Province, Anak Agung Bagus Suryawan, emphasized the importance of the scholarship program in developing the Mandarin language proficiency of students in Bali. He also emphasized how the project fits in with broader efforts to strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and China in terms of both culture and education.
A scholarship winner from Denpasar’s Pelita Bangsa School named Gerald praised the Mandarin Education Scholarship for inspiring him to improve his language abilities. Similar to this, Steffany, a superb educator and scholarship winner, stated her desire to contribute more significantly to the advancement of Mandarin instruction at her institution.
The West Nusa Tenggara Province’s Aidy Furqan, Head of Education and Culture, enthusiastically welcomed the Mandarin education scholarship program and predicted a good effect on the region’s human resource competitiveness.
Chinese Consul General Zhu Xinglong underlined that the goal of these scholarships is to build ties between China and Indonesia in addition to deepening understanding of the Chinese language and culture. The Chinese Consulate General has supported the Kang Chingwie scholarship and cultural exchange program to encourage Indonesian teenagers to learn Mandarin.
The Mandarin education scholarship program, which has already helped more than a thousand students and teachers, is celebrating its sixth anniversary this year. The scholarships are given out each year, underscoring both nations’ dedication to fostering intercultural understanding and language ability.
