Is DeepSeek better than ChatGPT? Let’s understand

DeepSeek – a Chinese-made artificial intelligence model – has taken the internet by storm, stunning tech experts and sinking some company’s stocks. Its latest edition released on January 20, quickly impressing people in different countries.

DeepSeek has also got the attention of US President Donald Trump. The main factor that makes this model so special is the company’s claim that it has been built at a fraction of the cost of industry-leading models like ChatGPT.

It is because DeepSeek apparently uses a lesser number of chips. That possibility caused one of the biggest chip-making companies to lose almost $600 billion of its market value – in a case representing the biggest one-day loss in US history.

Nonetheless, censorship is a big problem for China’s artificial intelligence aspirations internationally. BBC reported that it asked the app questions about Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989 – a taboo topic, but DeepSeek did not offer any details.
