The Enhanced Community Quarantine made the local food business Aling Kika’s Food Products to stopped selling its famous rice cakes, but surprisingly it continues to make its popular bibingka.

The rice cakes are for people in Cainta who helped to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the campaign and in relief efforts for those affected by widespread work stoppages and business closures brought on by the quarantine.

Cainta Mayor Kit Nieto expressed his amazement that150 of bibingkas were sent by the local food business and distributed to those residing along Kabisig Floodway in Barangay San Andres, Cainta.

As Luzon enters its fourth week of enhanced quarantine in the city, private donations continue to pour in for the municipal government of Cainta.

More than 200 loaves of bread, 400 prepared meals, more than 35 sacks of rice, 12 gallons of hand sanitizers, boxes of bottled water and canned goods and hygiene kits were provided by the Government.

There were also more than 1000 washable masks sent to the local government, which will be packed with other products to be provided.

In the midst of on going lockdown, there are people who choose to be rescuers in order to appreciate, support and show kindness to the frontliners who are fighting the virus each day.

Salute to these kind of people who are always ready to help others whether in big or small ways.

This is another showcase of how bayanihan in Philippines is still alive.
