Key Highlights from Arab Health 2025 50 Years of Medical Advancements
The grand 50th edition of Arab Health 2025 was held at Dubai World Trade Centre on January 27th under the theme “Where the World of Healthcare Meets”. This mega event more than 180 countries met where innovations and industry leaders of the world’s healthcare professionals presented medical technology and services in a show and tell. More than 3,800 companies will be featured at the exhibitor level with an attendance expected to be reached by 60,000 worldwide and remains as the biggest event in the region of the healthcare industry.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai visited Arab Health 2025 highlighting the UAE’s commitment to investing in healthcare as a future driven initiative.He underlined the importance of innovation and technology in making health care systems more efficient and inclusive. He also visited some of the key pavilions along with officials such as Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of the Department of Economy and Tourism and Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, and saw the latest industry trends and developments on display there.
Arab Health 2025 showcased over 40 country pavilions with major participants including China, India, the United States and the United Kingdom. Morocco and Latvia made their debut this year while long standing participants like Saudi Arabia and the UK expanded their presence. Several key partnerships and collaborations were announced including a strategic investment between Yuwell Medical and Inogen in the respiratory health sector. Emirates Health Services (EHS) unveiled 13 pioneering projects in areas like family centric healthcare, mental health, AI and sustainability alongside signing 12 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and agreements with global stakeholders.
World of Wellness and Healthcare ESG Conferences: New to this year’s edition these conferences emphasized the role of wellness and environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies in healthcare.
Smart Hospital and Interoperability Zone: This zone showcased innovative solutions for smart hospital management and interoperability between healthcare systems.
Transformation Zone: This featured a variety of product showcases, talks and a start-up competition focused on AI’s impact on healthcare.
Arab Health has a significant economic footprint with projections for 2026-2028 expected to surpass USD 1.2 billion. In 2024, the event generated USD 269.7 million boosting sectors like tourism, logistics and healthcare investments. The 2024 edition alone attracted over 58,000 visitors contributing USD 56.2 million in accommodation spending.
The inaugural EmpowHER: Women in Healthcare forum highlighted the transformative power of female leadership in the healthcare sector. With women making up 64% of the UAE healthcare workforce, the UAE continues to lead the Arab world in gender equality. The World Bank’s 2023 report gave the UAE a score of 82.5 for women’s rights significantly above the regional average of 53.2.
Dr. Ibtesam Al Bastaki, Director of Investment & Partnership at the Dubai Health Authority discussed the value of women in leadership roles and the UAE’s proactive efforts in fostering gender equality including mentorship programs and initiatives to increase female representation in decision making roles. Leadership opportunities in digital health, AI and telemedicine were identified as areas of significant potential for women.
Arab Health 2025 has firmly established itself as a key global platform for advancing healthcare innovation, collaboration and progress. As it celebrates its 50th edition, the event not only showcases groundbreaking medical technology but also plays an instrumental role in advocating for equality and inclusion within the industry. Through participation from government entities, industry leaders and innovators, the event continues to shape the future of healthcare on a global scale.
