KidZania Manila to permanently close down after 5 years operations

METRO MANILA – Educational theme park KidZania Manila, an amusement facility owned by ABS-CBN Corporation, will be permanently cease operations by August 31, 2020 due to the long-term effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Accordingg to ABS-CBN subsidiary Play Innovations Incorporated, the company has decided to closed down the KidZania Manila’s operations after complying with the government’s effort of preventing the spread of the virus.

The company further states that even though they would be allowed to operate in the future, with the implementation of the “new normal”, Mass gathering will be prohibited and would require the children to stay at home. These conditions has resulted the company to close the play city’s doors permanently.

The theme park has been closed down since March 11 in compliance with the imposed community quarantine by the government to fight against the virus.

The media giant who owns KidZania Manila said that a number of employees will lose their jobs as the network are currently off-air due to the denial of congressional franchise.

However, the company assured that they will provide their employees separation pay as mandated by the law as well as job placement programs. Established in 2015, the educational theme park in Taguig for letting children play different role with real-life establishments inside the park.
