KPK launches Jaga Bansos application to monitor Covid-19 social assistance distribution

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) launched an application called Jaga Bansos for reporting alleged misappropriation social assistance for Covid-19.

This application is expected to be able to help channel social assistance related to coronavirus pandemic handling so that it is right on target.

Residents can later report if there are suspicions of deviation from the distribution of social assistance in the community.

The application launch was carried out virtually which was broadcast live on YouTube channel of KPK on Friday, May 29. In this launch, the Chairperson of KPK held a video conference with the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Batubara and the Head of BPKP Muhammad Yusuf Ateh.

This application can be downloaded via the Appstore or Playstore.

KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri explained that the Jaga application had actually been launched by the KPK for reporting corruption cases to the KPK. In fact, Jaga can also be a discussion room on the issue of corruption.

He said the KPK had also issued a KPK Circular related to the distribution of social assistance.

Firli said that in the circular the KPK recommended integrated social welfare data (DTKS) to be a reference for social assistance distribution. It is expected that the distribution of social assistance can be on target.

“We just want to guarantee social assistance is right on target and appropriate and there are no irregularities. Related to that in the KPK Circular that social assistance is based on DTKS and field data can be added if indeed DTKS does not include citizens who are entitled to receive, or vice versa if there is still data coming in DTKS but those people not feasible, we remove them,” he said.

As is known, the Ministry of Social Affairs distributing assistance in the form of basic food to help underprivileged and vulnerable families affected by Covid-19 to meet basic needs during the pandemic. The assistance was valued at Rp. 600,000 and distributed twice every two weeks.
