KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia on Tuesday (Feb 4) confirmed that a 41-year-old man from Selangor has become the country’s first citizen to be infected by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
The Malaysian had travelled to countries and attended a conference with international delegates from Jan 16 to 23 , including some from China.
Malaysian Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad said the man is in stable condition and is currently receiving treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital.
He was one of two new cases reported in Malaysia. The other one including a Chinese national aged 61 who arrived in Malaysia on Jan 18. He is currently in stable condition and being treated in an isolation ward. The total cumulative number of cases positive for the virus is now at 10.
