Man defies MCO order, goes out to buy his favorite food

GEORGE TOWN – A man got stopped by pollice personnel by defying the  Movement Control Order (MCO) to buy his favorite food to satisfy his cravings.

According to Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Soffian Santong, the man did not specified where he was heading to but the man said he went out to buy his delicious food.

“I advised him not to repeat it and avoid going out for trivial reasons.” the police chief added.

Soffian said that while majority goes out to buy essential supplies, there are still others who goes outside for trivial reasons.

“We will continue to advise the public to follow the MCO, Our roadblocks are up 24 hours and we will constantly monitor the situation.”

“Let us do our part and stay at home to break the chain of infection”

Soffian also warns if the situation escalates, they might ask the army to help contain the spread. “If it gets worse, we will suggest the army to be deployed there,” he said.
