Metro Manila – Marikina City’s COVID-19 testing laboratory has finally been accredited by The Department of Health (DOH), Mayor Marcelino Teodoro announced on Thursday, April 30.
The local government got the approval a month after they first set up its Covid-19 testing lab to help to satisfy the standards required by the Health department.
“It is one of the best laboratories I’ve seen. Mukhang magandang-maganda ang pagkakagawa, maayos ang layout, talagang sinunod ang mga equipment, ang furnishing tastefully executed,” Duque said in an interview.
Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro said that the testing facility can process 400 to 500 samples daily using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machines.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque praised the facility and called it a ‘model to other local government units’.
“It is one of the best laboratories I’ve seen. Mukhang magandang-maganda ang pagkakagawa, maayos ang layout, talagang sinunod ang mga equipment, ang furnishing tastefully executed,” Duque said in an interview. Marikina government has entered a memorandum of agreement (MOA) ordering 3,000 UP developed Covid-19 testing kits with Manila Heath Tek, Inc. The testing kits were approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
