Medicard protects COVID-19 health-care programs

Health maintenance organization MediCard Philippines, Inc. said Friday that its programs protect members who will be affected by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

It said it would later issue guidance on reporting of the matter.

According to Health Department, the Philippines has so far reported 52 cases, including five deaths, as of Thursday.

President Rodrigo Duterte addressed the country on Thursday night and lifted Code Red Sub-Level 2 because of COVID-19. He also ordered the restriction of traveling to and from Metro Manila as part of group quarantine from March 15 to April 14 to contain COVID-19 spread.
