MANILA – Malacañang announced today (Saturday) that areas under GCQ such as Nueva Ecija, Batangas, Quezon, Cebu City and Iloilo City will be extended until August 31.
Mandaue, Lapu Lapu, Talisay, Minglanilla and Consolacion in Cebu will also be under GCQ until the end of the month.
Meanwhile, The new classification of National Capital Region and other areas such as Cavite, Bulacan, Laguna and Rizal under modified enhanced community quarantine will be announced next week by President Duterte.
The remaining areas in the country will be placed under modified general community quarantine with selected areas that can be subjected to strict enforcement. Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government has been directed to ensure that high risk areas shall enforced strict lockdown and implementation minimum public health standards and intensified tracing and quarantine.
