PETALING JAYA – The Prime Minister’s Office explained today the the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin did not breach the the Health Ministry’s orders of quarantine as he has been tested negative for Covid-19 today hence does not required to wear a quarantine band.
PMO further explains that the Health Ministry did order the prime minister to wear a quarantine band while is doing self quarantine at home.
According to risk assessment carried out by Health Ministry officers on October 5, Prime Minister Muhyiddin was advised to do self quarantine and monitor his health at home for 14 days via home assessment tool MySejahtera app.
PMO said in a statement that was posted on Muhyiddin’s official Facebook page that the accusations against the prime minister that he breached the Health Ministry’s orders are not true since he was not required by the Health Ministry to wear a quarantine band.
The PMO also reported the update on Muhyiddin’s Covid-19 test results. The test was carried out in October 5, 2020 and he was tested NEGATIVE of the Covid-19 virus. Muhyiddin, however, was advised to seek treatment to the nearest health facilities should he experienced symptoms during the quarantine period.
Last Monday, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Zulkifli Mohamad was tested positive for Covid-19. He previously attended as meeting which was chaired by PM Muhyiddin.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that individual who participated on the October 3 meeting had tested positive for Covid-19 but did not displyed any symptoms during the meeting.
Those attendees were issued a 14-day home surveillance order (HSO) from the day of contact and given a quarantine band to wear and others were ordered to carry out self-health monitoring for 14 days at home using the MySejahtera app. Muhyiddin assured the public that there will be no double standard when it comes to complying with the government’s standard operating procedures as this will be his second time that he was undergoing self-quarantine.
