Neri Colmenares Made Himself Clear In Working With VP Leni Robredo

Philippines – Surprisingly, The Bayan Muna director Neri Colmenares has shared that he isn’t precluding the chance of working with Vice President Leni Robredo regardless of his avoidance from her senatorial setup for the 2022 races. He said the most earnest of these issues is to forestall the group of the late despot Ferdinand Marcos from getting back to Malacañang and a potential augmentation of President Rodrigo Duterte’s standard in the midst of the pandemic which keeps on battering the country.

Their disparities regardless, let us not fail to focus on the greater battle before us. It is my expectation that we keep on cooperating to overcome the powers of oppression and debasement.

In view of this, Colmenares was one of four or five candidates for Robredo’s twelfth pick for the Senate, close by Federation of Free Workers president Sonny Matula, who wound up being Robredo’s decision for the space which she saved for a delegate of underestimated individuals. While Colmenares had been in contact with Robredo’s camp, he and the liberal Makabayan alliance that he leads have said that they still can’t seem to meet with the VP face to face.

It is hence, Makabayan said, that they have not yet supported Robredo or some other official applicant as they would need to proceed with conversations on key stages and projects while pushing for the broadest solidarity conceivable to overcome Duterte and Marcos.

It isn’t clear why Robredo, who has likewise been supporting for a wide alliance of political players to smash Duterte and Marcos in the surveys, didn’t by and by meet Colmenares and individuals from Makabayan. Notwithstanding, Colmenares said that previous Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, a senatorial competitor in Robredo’s ticket, had a problem with his consideration in the VP’s Senate arrangement.
