An extended holiday has been observed in Jakarta due to the Isra Miraj of Prophet Muhammad and Chinese New year, in accordance with that many changes have been made in the traffic. More specifically the odd-even license plate traffic policy is followed to manage the vehicles and traffic. But the Provincial Government of Jakarta has temporarily announced the suspension of the odd-even traffic policy due to the upcoming festival holidays and this will be followed from January 27-29,2025.

“The policy is taken based on Jakarta Governor Regulation no.88/2019 Chapter 3 Verse 3. It says that odd-even license plate number restriction is not applied on Saturday, Sunday and national holidays determined by the President” Syafrin Liputo, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head

People are instructed to utilise the public transportation in order to reduce the traffic congestion meanwhile it will promote a safer environment.

“In connection with the commemoration of Iska Mikraj and the celebration of Chinese New Year, the odd-even regulation on January 27-29, 2025 in the DKI Jakarta area will be abolished” official statement released on X by TMC Polda Metro.

The Minister of Religion, Minister of Manpower, and Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia has togetherly signed this policy which is based on a decree stated in number 1017 of 2024 and number 2 of 2024. The policy will resume to its regular schedule after January 29, 2025.
