PETALING JAYA – A three-carriage electric train (KTM Komuter) and another one from the Electric Train Service was involved in an accident near Kuang on Friday, injuring one passenger.
According to Malayan Railway Corporation (KTMB) Chief Executive Officer Datuk Kamarulzaman Zainal,The 6.37pm incident involved an electric train that was on route from Tanjung Malim Station to Sungai Buloh Station and a the dual-track electric train goes from Padang Besar to KL Sentral Station.
The passenger injured suffered sustained light injuries and was immediately treated at the Kuang Station while other passengers were transferred to another train.
Total of 122 people was on board but was uninjured.
Kamarulzaman said that despite the accident, one of the tracks between Sungai Buloh and Wanrao was not block, hence it can still be use for operation. An investigation is currently being conducted and authorities such as the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) has been notified.
