The Philippines Airlines will strengthen its Southeast Asian network with the launching of direct flights between Manila and Da Nang, Vietnam that will operate from July 1, 2025. This new route will operate thrice weekly Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will be covered by Airbus A321 aircraft that can carry up to 199 passengers in a business and economy class configuration.

Da Nang, a lively coastal city is the gateway to many UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the old town of Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary and Imperial City of Hue. The city is famous for its scenic beaches, Marble Mountains and the legendary Golden Bridge.

This is PAL’s third extensive operation in Vietnam this year. The carrier just raised the frequency of its Manila-Hanoi flights to daily and will set to begin Cebu-Ho Chi Minh City flights on May 2.

PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng welcomed the new route saying that Philippine Airlines are thrilled to enhance close friendship with the Vietnamese people with the launch of direct Manila-Da Nang flights. He added that the airline is committed to increasing connectivity and boosting tourism and trade between the two cities.

Flight timing

The Aircraft PR 585 arrives at Da Nang at 12:45 PM and will leave Manila at 11:10 AM local time.

The flight PR 586 will depart Da Nang at 1:35 PM and arrive at Manila at 5:10 PM local time.

This expansion is consistent with the rising popularity of Vietnam as a tourist destination. In 2024 Vietnam received 17.6 million foreign tourists which is close to pre pandemic figures.

Tourists can expect easy access to Central Vietnam’s natural and cultural sites through PAL’s direct flights to Da Nang.
