Philippine Football ready to return as IATF gives go signal on club trainings

MANILA – The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) on Friday, gave the green lights to the recommendation of the Games and Amusements Board that would allow the Philippines Football League to hold training sessions under strict health protocols.

The Philippine Football Federation welcomed the task force’s decision as the Filipino fans now have a reason to rejoice as Philippines Football League looks to resume the actual training.

According to PFF President Nonong Araneta, the Football Federation, PFL organizer welcomed the development and thanked the government’s support to the league. He also thanked the Games and Amusements Board for ensuring that professional sports may still push through despite the health crisis.

Araneta assures that the Football Federation will be ensuring the health and safety of the players as they prepare to re-start the league. Starting next week, there will be mass testing to be conducted to all players and staff on all PFL clubs.

The Philippines Football League were supposed to start the season last March however due to Covid-19 pandemic followed by strict countrywide lockdowns, Philippine Football Federation decided to postpone the league.

PFF are eyeing the teams practices at the National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite. The Philippines Football League, commonly known as PFL, is the country’s highest level of men’s club football sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF)
