There is the Oscars to celebrate the best in films. For music, there is the prestigious Grammys. For the best in games, there is The Game Awards. This year, ASTRO BOT – an exclusive for the PlayStation 5 – secured the Game of the Year title.
ASTRO BOT took home the prize in a category that also included other popular creations such as Balatro, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Team Asobi studio head Nicolas Doucet thanked his team and PlayStation for believing in the game.
ASTRO BOT is the champion of the night, clinching a total of four prizes in different categories including Best Family Game and Best Game Direction. Metaphor: ReFantazio is another notable name, grabbing prizes in Best Narrative, Best Art Direction and Best RPG.
The Game Awards is not just a special celebration for the best in gaming. It is also a platform for the latest announcements. The night brought plenty of surprises. Naughty Dog unveiled an IP called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
