PM Muhyiddin wants 1MDB’s money identified abroad

KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has ordered to seek the return of funds allegedly misappropriated from its strategic investment fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the prime minister was informed that the authorities have successfully reclaimed RM1.4 billion worth of funds stolen from 1MDB and that a special team is continually tracking down the state investment firm’s funds abroad.

“This morning, PM Muhyidding was briefing by the officials responsible to track 1MDB funds overseas.” The special team will be represented by the Attorney General’s Chambers, the National Financial Crime Centre , MACC, Royal Malaysia Police , Bank Negara Malaysia and the Ministry of Finance.
