PUTRAJAYA – Pakatan Harapan (PH) is expected to discuss the transfer of government from Mahathir to Anwar at the party coalition’s presidential council meeting this Friday.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad reiterated that he would step down after the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in November but he is unsure if whether there will be any discussion in this Friday’s council meeting.

“I am not sure if they will be a discussion on the transition, but I will not bring it up as I am only there to serve as the meeting’s chairman,” He said in an interview.

The 94-year-old prime minister has been repeatedly called to give a date of the transition to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the recent months. Malaysia is the host for the 2020 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation starting from December 2019 until November 2020.
